PART II OBJECTION TO ISLAM INDUCTION
To fully understand my objection of Islam being promoted to my son in public school, I need to outline current facts that have recently come to light about Islam from the 9/11 Commission, a Yale College Professor, Muslim declarations and California’s new hate crime bill SB-1234 awaiting signature from the Governor.
Recent reports and documents have proved that Islam is perilous. In efforts to implement the totalitarian Sharia law, Sheik Abu Hamza has urged Muslims to kill non-Muslims and commit other acts of terrorism against the "United Snakes of America." Hamza said he can't be accused of inciting people to commit violent acts because he's a cleric who only preaches Muslim law. Hamza said, "I say the reality that's in the Muslim books anyway. Whether I say it or not, it's in the books."
What books is he talking about? Mary Habeck, Associate Professor of Yale University and highly respected military historian presented "Jihadist Ideology" on 8/12/04 covered by C-Span. Habeck explained the military strategies based on Islam's holy books, the Quran, the Hadith and the Sira. According to Habeck, the Sira is not well known in the West but very widely known in the Islamic world defining the "Method of Muhammad." Habeck says that in the Sira, Muhammad is the perfect man believed to have the perfect method for applying Islam. Jihadis believe that his successes were so miraculous they could only have been supported by Allah and if they want to experience the same success, they have to follow Muhammad’s footsteps exactly.
Habeck explained how Muhammad began in Mecca which persecuted early Muslims and was at first hostile to his message. Muhammad began the Dawa, the call to Islam. There was no violence allowed at this stage and he created a very small group which was clandestine, met in secret for fear of persecution. Muhammad slowly inculcated them into Islam as a way of life. It became a small vanguard or spearhead with an emir (leader).
This translates into the modern world, a creation of a small group that will "lead the rest of the world to the light of Islam." Habeck describes "vanguards" that will at first not practice violence but will instead be inculcated into true Islam. Habeck points out the Hadith says "Wherever there are three Muslims there must be a leader" and they take this literally. In the Sira, this was done in secrecy away from the prying eyes of the unbelieving world. [A description that fits today's cells] That’s the first stage.
Habeck explains that the second stage in Muhammad’s life is the Hejira, the immigration away from Mecca - an unbelieving place, to Medina - a place that was more accepting, more open to the message of Islam. Once Muslims have that dedicated "vanguard," they are to migrate away from the unbelieving society to someplace where there already is an Islamic society or create one, because that’s what Muhammad was forced to do. Using that small vanguard, he created the perfect Islamic society, so the argument is Muslims must do exactly the same thing—migrate away from an unbelieving society under a guise of peace with small cells of true believers to someplace that’s even more open to Muslim ideas to become stronger. Habeck says the Hejira is taken so seriously that there are several groups that have named themselves after those who have immigrated such as the Muhajiroun [a hard-line Islamic extremist group who support bin Laden and other terrorists.] Osama Bin Laden believes in this Hejira and believed when he was leaving Saudi Arabia that he was taking part in this method of Muhammad.
The third stage is Medina, which is the Islamic state Muhammad created once he arrived. Several people believe you must create an Islamic state before you can proceed to the next stage in Medina which is the stage of Jihad [where Muhammad slaughtered 600 to 900 Jews who rejected him as prophet]. So first of all you have Mecca, the Hejira and then at Medina the third stage, you are allowed to take part in violence for the sake of Islam. This is what happened in Muhammad’s life. [That is what is happening in America today.] It was at Medina that Muhammad was allowed to use violence against the unbelievers, those who had been oppressing him, and then gradually he was allowed to carry out this warfare spread to most of the unbelievers in the Arab Peninsula.
After Muhammad overtook Medina, he returned to Mecca and was able to take the city without a fight. Habeck explained the Jihadis today believe that once they succeed in other countries, Islam will be similarly welcomed.
This explains why the Quran has both "peaceful" verses and verses recited by terrorists as they commit violence. Together with the Sira, the duplicitous method of Muhammad, Islamist terrorism is symbiotic.
Differences between Jihadist groups occur when deciding which enemy to attack first. Habeck said one belief is the near enemy first and then the far enemy including rulers who call themselves Muslim but are not. Second, the greater unbelief first and then the lesser unbelief. The U.S. is that greater unbelief. Third, the apostates first and then the unbelievers. All of these come from the method of Muhammad, all can be read into the Quran, the Hadith and the Sira. Habeck says that if you look at what's going on in the world today, all of these Jihadi groups subscribe to one of these strategies.
Habeck acknowledges that Jihadis are a small number, and even the 9/11 Commission has postulated that the percentage of "fundamentalists" is a fraction of the Muslim population. But these small spearheads of Islam are exactly the belief of Islam played out, the method of Muhammad.
Jihad is the foundational aspiration of Islam for world domination. 8th century Muslim theologian and scholar Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani stated,
Jihad is a precept of Divine institution... We Malikis [one of four schools of Muslim jurisprudence] maintain it is preferable not to begin hostilities with the enemy before having invited the latter to embrace the religion of Allah, except where the enemy attacks first. They have the alternative of either converting to Islam or paying the poll tax (jizya), short of which war will be declared against them...
"Fundamentalist" means the core, root value of Islam. "Moderate" to a fundamental Muslim is apostate. To teach our children a "moderate" Islam that they would embrace the whole of Islam is to advance the terrorist cause of radical Islam cloaked in sheep’s clothing.
The 9/11 Commission’s recognition of Islamic jihad is clear. When confronted with descriptions of Islam as "faith based upon love, not hate," the Commission wrote,
"Yet as political, social, and economic problems created flammable societies, Bin Ladin used Islam’s most extreme, fundamentalist traditions as his match. All these elements –including religion—combined in an explosive compound." (pg 54).
The 9/11 Commission has verified that terrorism contains Islamic ideological beliefs. The verses in the Quran (Exhibit F) that are continuously claimed to be "taken out of context" without explanation, are not out of context at all. Islam divides the world into two sectors: Dar-al-Islam (the House of Islam) and Dar-al-Harb (The House of War). The only countries considered to be at peace are those where Islamic law (the Sharia) is enforced. Moderate Muslims (religion without faith) can claim the violent quotes in the Quran are out of context all day long, but they are used by Muslim countries and leaders. In 1990, 54 Muslim countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference signed the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, which claims the Shar’ia, a totalitarian system, to have primacy to guide humanity. It says the laws of Islam are "binding divine commandments ... and that no one as a matter of principle has the right to suspend them in whole or in part or violate or ignore [them]..
In 1968 high ranking delegates from 24 Muslim countries joined for the Proceedings of the Fourth Conference of the Academy of Islamic Research which contained:
"Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom you may not know, but who Allah doth know" [Qur'an, sura 8, verse 60].
Moderate Muslims claim these verses are taken out of context but there is no context to hide them in as they are continuously used to slaughter non-Muslims as demonstrated by Muhammad. Bin Laden is further quoted in the 9/11 Commission Report:
" ‘We are certain that we shall—with the grace of Allah—prevail over the Americans.’ He went on to warn that ‘If the present injustice continues...it will inevitably move the battle to American soil....Bin Ladin saw himself as called ‘to follow in the footsteps of the Messenger and to communicate his message to all nations’ and to serve as the rallying point and organizer of a new kind of war to destroy America and bring the world to Islam." (pg 48)
The 9/11 Commission also noted:
"Denouncing waywardness among the faithful, some clerics have appealed for a return to observance of the literal teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith. One scholar from the fourteenth century from whom Bin Laden selectively quotes, Ibn Taimiyyah, condemned both corrupt rulers and the clerics who failed to criticize them. He urged Muslims to read the Qur’an and the Hadith for themselves, not to depend solely on learned interpreters like himself but to hold one another to account for the quality of their observance." (pg 50) (emphasis mine)
"To the question what America could do, al Qaeda’s answer was that America should abandon the Middle East, convert to Islam, and end the immorality and godlessness of its society and culture: ‘It is saddening to tell you that you are the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind.’" (pg 51)
Bin Laden issued fatwas calling for jihad. (pg 59). The authenticity of these fatwas as Islamic are not under dispute.
Investigations of terrorists led the FBI to mosques and legitimate sheikhs who asserted to Muslims that it was their religious duty to fight against Allah’s enemies. (pg 72). These views were accepted because they are in Islam’s holy books. If moderate (faithless) Muslim groups denounce a fatwa, they are instantly apostate from the teachings of Muhammad and the holy books and condemned by Islam. Moderate Muslims are not our enemy, but Islam on the whole most definitively is. The blood of millions of Christians, Jews and moderate Muslims attest to it.
