Does the Bible prophesy about
 President Bush?

In the Old Testament, Isaiah 53 clearly prophesied about Jesus,
Isaiah 54 is about expanding to the Gentiles (all non-Jews). In Isaiah
55, when speaking of David, Isaiah prophesied to Israel:

"Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader
and commander to the people. Behold, you shall call a nation that
you know not, and nations that knew you not shall run to you because
of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for He has
            glorified you." (Isaiah 55:4-5)

What nation did Israel call that was unknown to Isaiah in his time?
The United States. Which nations that did not know Israel but ran to
her because of the Lord our God? The U.S. , England and others.
The Hebrew word nation in that verse means Gentile
nation. The Hebrew word leader means civil, military or
religious leader and is only used two other times in the whole
Bible. To know how God was using that word, I looked up who He
called "leader" in the other verses. It is also used to
describe Jehoiada (1 Chron 12:27) who is very
similar to President Bush, using "spear and shield" along with the
leaders with him. (1Chron 13:1) Of them it is
          written:

"All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect
heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the
rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king."
            (1 Ch 12:38)

There is a parallel there. An illustration. David, Jehoiada and the
leaders fought for their nation under the hand of God. Is it possible
that Isaiah, who began talking about the past but shifted toward the
future, is prophesying about President Bush, who is also a leader
          doing everything he can for

Hebron under the hand of God as Isaiah described? America is the
Gentile nation that Israel has called and was not known by Israel at
the time of Isaiah, and we have run to her aid just as prophesied in
          Isaiah 55:5.
These verses have long been claimed to point to Jesus as the
"witness" and "leader," but Jesus is the Christ which all the
witnesses and prophets point to. (see verses below). Christ is
more than a leader, He is our King. The description doesn’t quite
          match the glory of Him.
This comparison has been hotly disputed. Some accuse President Bush
of working against Israel with negotiations of the Gaza strip. Yet
Palestinians are furious with Bush as events fall into place favoring
          Israel, agreed to by Bush.
If this verse is a prophesy about President Bush, it would not mean
that Bush is perfect or a guarantee of success. King David made some
major mistakes. John the Baptist was a witness of Christ and ended up
beheaded. In fact all of the disciples were witnesses of Christ and
          suffered violent deaths.
What the verse DOES say is that God has given us a witness and
leader. Bush has boldly spoken of Jesus Christ and has led, therefore
the prophesy is already fulfilled. The question is, will our nation
follow him or will we choose a man who stands for abortion, the
butchering of babies; for homosexuality; giving lip service to
whatever he thinks the people want rather than what God commands?
Our nation will be judged and the election will be a large part of
it. Based on the current polls, I would be surprised if Bush lost.
Based on the Bible, I would be surprised if Bush won. Whether with
Kerry in 2004 or Hillary in 2008, the Bible describes very dark times
ahead with increasingly radical weather patterns coming in waves like
a woman in labor. Should Kerry or Hillary win, I imagine the backlash
against Christians and real values will be intense. Liberals will be
deluding themselves with cheers of "peace and safety" which is exactly
when the Bible says destruction will come.
The next verses in Isaiah are a message from God to us today,

"Seek you the LORD while He may be found, call you upon Him while
He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man
his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have
mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."

President Bush is a man of God, but if America does not turn around
and repent, God will turn His back on us. Moses was a leader from God,
but the people did what they wanted, and the cost was huge.
          God said,

"If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble
themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked
ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land." (2 Ch 7:14)

This election is not about Bush winning or losing, it’s about us.
God supplied the leader but He will not force us to follow, and He
will not force us to become united with those that would slaughter
innocent children or make them bow to other gods in public schools.
The division of this country is not a mistake. The blind are becoming
          blinder (John 12:40), as the

angels bind together the weeds to be burned (Mat 13:30).
If you haven’t received the Savior, now is a good time to

seek while He may still be found. Call while He is near. Don’t
wait for the match to strike. Come.
          ***Verses***
"If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is
another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which
he witnesseth of me is true." ~Jesus in John 5:31
"But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which
the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear
witness of me, that the Father hath sent me." ~Jesus in John 5:36
"And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of
me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape."
          ~Jesus in John 5:37
"I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me
beareth witness of me." ~Jesus in John 8:18
Jesus answered them, "I told you, and ye believed not: the works
that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me."  John
          10:25
"Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then?" Jesus
answered, "Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and
for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto
the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." ~ John
          18:37
"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believe in him shall receive remission of sins."  Acts
          10:43
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we
are the children of God." Romans 8:16
"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by
water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth
witness, because the Spirit is truth." 1John 5:6
"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth
that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood,
even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it
is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth."
          1John 5:5
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1John 5:7
"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and
the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." 1John 5:8
"If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater:
for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He
that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the
record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath
given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath
the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
          1John 5:9
And for those who wait for Him: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do
not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Surely I
will help you; surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
